About

Technology and entrepreneurship are transforming the world faster than ever before, influencing how we solve problems, build new ideas, and shape the future. TECH × BIZ Innovation Week is a dynamic program designed to help young learners explore emerging technologies while developing creativity, problem-solving skills, and the foundations of business thinking. Through interactive activities and team challenges, students discover how technology inspires innovation and how simple business concepts help turn ideas into structured solutions.

Co-created by Dr. Anas Chalah, Assistant Dean for Teaching and Learning at Harvard SEAS, and Dr. Jack McGourty, Director of Community and Global Entrepreneurship at the Columbia Business School, the course blends future-focused tech concepts with introductory entrepreneurship and communication skills. Students examine real-world examples, build their own project ideas, and present a final pitch, gaining confidence as young innovators prepared for a rapidly evolving world.

Dr. Anas Chalah

Dr. Anas Chalah

Assistant Dean for Teaching and Learning at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences

Dr. Chalah develops and leads the technology and innovation content for the program. He introduces students to emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and sustainability tech, and explains how these advancements shape the modern world. His curriculum helps students build a strong conceptual understanding of STEM and its real-world applications.

Dr. Jack McGourty

Dr. Jack McGourty

Director of Community and Global Entrepreneurship at the Columbia Business School

Dr. McGourty designs and delivers the program’s entrepreneurship and design thinking curriculum. As the founder of CBS’s Venture for All®, he introduces students to core business concepts, problem-solving frameworks, teamwork strategies, and leadership skills. His guidance helps students turn creative ideas into well-structured concepts and communicate them effectively.
